The owner and head instructor of Driven Jiu Jitsu, Alex Jeffrey has an extensive background in wrestling and grappling. He is a first degree black belt and started wrestling in 1994 at the age of 12 and continued on through high school and university for a total of 13+ years. During his years as a varsity wrestler with Lakehead University he was a Greco Roman National Champion, a Junior World Trial semifinalist a two time OUA all star and inductee to the Lakehead Athletics Wall of Fame. After graduating university, Alex needed to get back on the mats. Soon afterward he discovered BJJ and instantly loved it. After 12 years of training BJJ, Alex was honoured to receive his black belt from world renowned BJJ practitionor Robert Drysdale in April 2017. Alex has competed in many Gi and No Gi BJJ tournaments and has had two professional MMA fights.
Alex has 16 years experience as a coach/instructor and has been running his academy for 13 years. He continually attends seminars and competitions to advance and ever improve.
